Addiction treatment

Addiction treatment in only 4 stages to reach full recovery without relapse

Addiction must be sought by every addicted patient as soon as possible and before it is too late, as addiction is one of the most dangerous things facing a person recently.

There are many questions that must be asked about addiction, what is its concept, and what are its types, risks, and harms? What are the ways to recover from addiction without relapse?

And other questions and aspects that we must know. We will answer all these questions here, God willing.

Before talking about addiction treatment, we must know what the concept of addiction is. There are many concepts of addiction, but most studies have confirmed that addiction is a disease.

This disease may affect humans if there is a predisposition to it, but of course, medical studies differed about the classification of this disease, so the following opinions emerged:

Addiction is an organic disease

There are some concepts that I talked about that addiction is an organic disease in the main, because the chemistry of the brain takes place in some changes.

These changes lead to human beings being pushed to more external stimuli, which are the drugs that the addict relies on to try to enter a false state of happiness.

This is due to the secretion of hormones in a way that increases the imbalance in the neurotransmitters that transmit from the brain to the nervous system.

Addiction is a mental illness.

Addiction is a mental illness that affects humans in certain circumstances, such as depression, stress, illness, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, due to a change in brain chemistry.

Modern psychiatry has also proven that the brain cells responsible for dependence are the ones that control the person if this person has conditions that lead to addiction.

This is what makes brain cells need many external influences to secrete hormones that the brain relies on to escape problems or other aspects of life that may cause addiction.

Addiction is a mental illness.

Addiction is both a psychological and an organic disease that was adopted by the American study of concept of addiction, a study published by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

In which she confirmed that the concept of addiction combines organic and psychological illness together and that the brain, which is responsible for controlling the chemistry and neurotransmitters that connect the brain and the various organs of the body, is malfunctioning as a result of drug addiction, which is what the study calls brain dysfunction.

What are the signs of drug addiction?

In order to know the steps of treating drug addiction, we must realize that there are many signs and symptoms that appear on the addict, like any other organic, mental or behavioral disease.

What are these signs and symptoms?

The signs of drug addiction differ according to each drug from the other, but there are common signs in terms of physical, behavioral, and psychological aspects.

This is what we present through the following points:

Organic signs of drug addiction

Excessive thinness, as the addict loses weight remarkably after a period of drug addiction, despite a large number of eating or natural meal that has not changed.

Therefore, the family should pay attention, as it is a clear sign of addiction.

Change in the external appearance, such as not paying attention to the external appearance in clothes or the way of eating, or paying attention to personal hygiene in the hair and face or bathing.

And such matters with a state of indifference and frivolity when advising him of the need for personal hygiene.

There are some special manifestations in the face, such as striking red eyes, dark circles around the eyes, and a runny nose.

As well as the apparent symptoms of cold without the real cold, in addition to a change in facial features and striking pallor.

There are special signs such as changing the shape of clothes and not wearing summer clothes and trying to wear shirts or long-sleeved clothes in an attempt by the addict to hide the appearance of acupuncture in the arms.

Or the appearance of some signs, such as burning some fingers in the case of smoking cannabis or some other drugs that are used through smoking.

This is in addition to wearing sunglasses constantly and strikingly to hide dark circles around the eyes or constant redness of the eyes.

Behavioral symptoms of drug addiction

The tendency to isolation and introversion, and this is one of the visible signs that a family that really wants to treat addiction for one of its members should be aware of.

Where the addicted individual tends, whether at the beginning of the addiction or after a period of drug addiction, to isolation, introversion, and distance from the family environment.

The constant need for money, where the addicted individual tries to deceive the obvious in order to get money in order to buy the drugs needed for him.

And then he sometimes tries to steal or to make money with inventive tricks, so when he reaches this point, the family must intervene and prevent the money from him.

There are some psychological manifestations, such as the inability to focus on academic achievement, dullness, indifference, and insensitivity to the surrounding reality experienced by the family.

With a lot of unusual sleep from this person, his behaviors are always characterized by unjustified violence and sometimes excessive.

Change in some behavioral manifestations such as the habit of lying, in order to hide the reality of addiction, or permanent deception in order to get out of the house to go sometimes to places of drug abuse with friends.

And then fabricating false narratives to escape the dilemma of discovery, and this is one of the clear behavioral signs of making a mistake, and then it must be confronted with the truth.

Having some obvious mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, hallucinations, and sometimes imagining things that did not happen, and are advanced signs of addiction.

This is with some other signs such as often unjustified fear and anxiety, inability to sleep, insomnia and sometimes staying up late.

These mental illnesses may amount to an attempt to harm oneself, as the addicted individual then thinks of committing suicide and getting rid of his life.

Stages of addiction

In order to treat addiction, we have made it clear that addiction is a disease that may affect humans, and every organic and psychological disease has signs and stages that the patient goes through.

What are the stages of addiction disease?

Addiction goes through many stages, including:

Party stage

It is the first stage in which drug addiction begins, as a person begins using drugs to escape from his social or psychological problems.

And thus begins getting used to the external stimulus, which is an alternative to real life, and this is what the drug does in the brain cells.

As the cells gradually begin to become accustomed to this external stimulus through the drug, the drug user then feels unusually happy.

The sense of euphoria comes to him due to the secretion of dopamine and other hormones in the brain that help him reach that delusional state.

This stage is one of the most dangerous stages because a person who uses drugs feels as if he owns the world, as he feels a strong feeling that helps him to overcome difficulties and face them.

But this is a false feeling because it is the beginning of dependence on drugs that have harms that appear after a little addiction and this person becomes sick with addiction.

The stage of losing control internally

It is a subsequent stage of the party stage, in which the drug addict begins to demand the drug and does not dispense with it.

There are many drug users who do not control themselves at this stage and demand more drugs because they saw in it a strong influence that helps them in life.

Here, they do not initially feel the need for addiction treatment, because this stage is the real step to reaching addiction in its customary form.

At this stage, the problem of drug dependence increases, and the lower the percentage of the drug in the body, the greater the serious withdrawal symptoms, which have many symptoms in terms of physical, organic, and psychological.

With the passage of time at this stage, the psychological struggle of the addict begins, whether he continues to be addicted to drugs, or not.

Most of the time, it continues because the drug completely controls the brain, and the social and psychological effects around the addict begin to appear.

Stage of denial

It is the last stage of complete addiction, in which the addict completely loses control of himself.

And he begins by changing his behavior so that it is compatible with the world of drug addiction and completely dependent on the psychological effects of the drug.

At this stage, the addict begins to show full signs of addiction, in terms of organic, psychological, and behavioral aspects.

He also exhibits some behaviors that confirm his complete deterioration, such as lying and deceiving others in order to get enough money to buy drugs.

Types of drug addiction

In order to move in the stages of addiction treatment properly, we must know the types of drugs as well as the types of alcohol and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse on the addict.

As well as the signs of addiction that appear depending on each type of drug. In the following points, we will discuss the most important, famous, and most dangerous species that are widely spread in our Arab countries.

Hashish

Hashish is the famous cannabis plant and is called in some parts of the world marijuana, and those narcotic leaves were used medicinally in the old days. Cannabis contains some substances that have an anesthetic effect on the central nervous system, such as tetrahydrocannabinol and the substance called THC. It is one of the main substances in cannabis and is responsible for the feeling of euphoria in brain cells.

There are many names for hashish, such as Moroccan, Afghani, Indian hashish, and other names. This is in addition to other local names for hashish, whether in Sudan or other Arab countries.

Captagon

Captagon tablets are white narcotic tablets that may have a brown color at times. They are tablets with narcotic substances that work to provide a feeling of comfort, anesthesia, get rid of anxiety, relieve pain, and others.

This gives the user a feeling that he must take the doses again in order to reach this condition several times, and from here the addiction comes.

Captagon tablets are the trade name for amphetamine and drug-derived substances that contain hyperactive and stimulant substances. Over time, these substances cause many harms and risks, including auditory and visual hallucinations, and then the need to treat addiction to it appears as soon as possible.

There are many common names for Captagon tablets, such as the Flyer-Balloon, Buddha's Tablet, Abu Hilalin, Abu Quin, and others. But the most famous name in the market is Captagon, and Captagon is spread in many Arab countries, especially in the Arab Gulf countries.

Alchemy or crystal meth

Chibu is a highly dangerous industrial drug, as it contains dangerous chemicals that affect the brain, heart, blood, and the rest of the body’s organs.

These chemicals are basically stimulants that affect the mind and feeling cells inside the brain. As for the ingredients of Shabhu; They are made up of methamphetamines, a narcotic and a stimulant at the same time. Which made it an attractive drug at first because it stimulates the mind, and then after reaching addiction it becomes a truly deadly drug.

Shab has several names. Besides Shab, which is the famous name for it, it has many other names such as ice, crack, snow crystal, shrapnel, and blade.

Tramadol

Tramadol is a highly effective opioid medication for the relief of moderate to severe pain caused by chronic diseases.

Doctors sometimes prescribe it to patients, because it is based on relieving pain by controlling the central nervous system.

Especially GABA neurotransmitters, control neurotransmitters, and control dopamine production in the human brain.

Tramadol is a class of opioid analgesic drugs that are used to relieve the pain experienced by some patients, whose severity ranges between severe and moderate.

This medication is based on changing the way the brain feels pain and relieves this feeling by binding to receptors other than what the brain sends to the body. Hence the pain relief.

But it is indeed a dangerous drug for the brain and the human body in general. Therefore, the medical warnings from it were many and very dangerous, especially for women who make up a good percentage of the percentage of tramadol abusers.

Tramadol tablets are one of the most prevalent types of manufactured drugs among addicts in Egypt, where the percentage according to the Addiction and Abuse Treatment Fund constituted a large percentage, reaching 28.71%, followed by hashish and then heroin.

Lyrica

Lyrica pills fall under the category of sedative pills that treat many diseases that affect humans or, more precisely, treat the pain associated with some diseases, especially those that affect the nervous system.

Lyrica pills perform the same function that tramadol pills do by numbing and calming neurotransmitters in the brain, and preparing the nervous system for sedation. Which is considered a great benefit for the person suffering from this pain, but the same studies warned against the addiction of Lyrica.

Because it is one of the pills that can be easily addictive due to its rapid control over the brain and nervous system.

Heroin

Heroin is a chemical extracted from the opium narcotic plant, which has a powerful analgesic and sedative effect.

Despite its effect that exceeds the analgesic morphine by three times it's analgesic and narcotic strength, doctors are prohibited from using or prescribing it.

This is because of its severe impact on the patient afterward, which makes the treatment of addiction to it a very important and necessary requirement. Among the most famous types of heroin are brown, light beige, or “brown sugar” heroin and “Hong Kong stone” heroin, in addition to heroin manufactured in China such as Chinese heroin and “White Dragon Pearl” heroin.

Morphine

Morphine is a type of opiate drug that is very dangerous to the mind and sexual health, and many of its symptoms are related to the nervous system, and psychological and mental health of humans.

Therefore, it is considered one of the most important types of drugs that need immediate treatment after addiction, as morphine controls the brain centers, which causes changes in brain chemistry.

Cocaine

Cocaine is one of the most powerful natural stimulants and drugs, as it is extracted from the coca plant, which is one of the most dangerous narcotic plants in all.

This natural plant is found in the continent of South America. As for the dangerous active substance in this drug, scientists called it cocaine hydrochloride.

This substance has several special effects on the nervous system and brain activity in relation to the secretion of hormones, especially neurons that stimulate the activity of dopamine or the hormone of happiness and euphoria in the human brain. Of course, this previous effect on the brain makes the secretion of dopamine abnormal, as the brain is exposed to several disorders due to the secretion of dopamine in excess of the normal.

This is where cocaine addiction begins and requires treatment for addiction as soon as possible.

Alcohol

Alcohol is a term given to chemical compounds composed of substances that are very dangerous and toxic to the health of the body.

Alcohol depends in its components on some substances such as mono- and di-hydroxyl, which consist of hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon compounds. It is well known that alcohol is one of the ancient narcotic substances, as it is one of the oldest drugs on the face of the earth.

It has been mentioned by all the heavenly books and prohibited because of its serious damage to the mind, consciousness, body, and others. Alcohol has many industrial uses, such as the manufacture of perfumes and the synthesis of many medicines, especially sedative and pain-relieving medicines.

As well as sterile materials for wounds and skin ulcers and fuel for some mechanical machines and others.

However, the harmful use that we are dealing with in this article is the manufacture of alcoholic or spirit drinks, or what is known as wine.

Wine or alcohol has many types, but the most famous of these types are those that are made from the fermentation process of fruits such as grapes, raisins, dates, apples, barley, wheat, corn, and others.

The blue elephant

It is a pill composed of a substance called DMT that affects the brain and nervous system, completely, making the transition from the normal real world to the world of fantasy and hallucinations, or the world after death.

It has many names, such as the blue elephant, the drug of Satan, or the drug of children of themselves, and many names spread in Arab countries.

The blue elephant pill is spread in many regions of the world, and it is manufactured in factories far from the arms and eyes of censorship in many countries. However, one of the most famous regions for its manufacture and consumption is the countries of South America, perhaps because of the customs and religious heritage of some Indian tribes whose members use to see the other world in the beliefs of those tribes.

But this pill moved and spread and was manufactured in the factories of drug dealers in the United States and some European countries, and then it moved to all countries of the world.

Voodoo

Voodoo, or spell drug, is the most dangerous type of modern drug, but voodoo, which is new in appearance, despite that, is old.

Voodoo is named after some of the magical rituals and incantations that were performed by some African tribes.

Then it moved from Africa to Central and North America and from there to the whole world, including Arab countries. Voodoo, or exorcism drug, has spread and found a popular market in Sudan, like in other Arab countries. Especially among young people who are looking for something new to try and get addicted to.

Voodoo is very similar to marijuana, except that it is intended to sedate raging animals, and its smell is also close to marijuana.

The Joker

It is a synthetic drug that has spread over the past twenty years and is available in the market in the form of bags of incense and medicinal herbs. It has the same effect as cannabis on brain cells, which made it the most popular in Arab countries as an alternative to cannabis.

The Joker formula is made from some chemicals mixed with natural herbs, as well as materials used in the manufacture of fertilizers, and other materials with which pesticides are made. Among its medical names are industrial cannabinoids, and the drug Joker is now spreading around the world, where it is placed in electronic cigarettes, and it has great damage to public health, especially the brain.

Hence, the treatment of addiction to the drug Joker has become an important requirement for everyone who has fallen into the clutches of addiction to it.

Chemical

The chemical substance or drug consists of chemically manufactured substances, mixed with many herbs, the most important of which is the lotus flower. Among the famous chemicals mixed with these herbs, which are among the basic components of the chemical components, are red phosphorous, anhydrous ammonia, sulfuric acid, acetone, and lithium.

This is in addition to mixing these materials with a percentage of the narcotic cannabis.

The components of the chemical substance are considered toxic substances dangerous to human health since these substances are used in some dangerous chemical industries. Such as the manufacture of car batteries, agricultural fertilizers, the manufacture of matches, and other industries that are very dangerous to humans.

Abu Saliba pills

It is one of the most dangerous types of narcotic pills that have spread in recent years, and it has many names circulating among drug traffickers, such as Salaib - Crosat and others. And all these names are for Abu Saliba pills, which consist of several sedative substances that have the ability to calm the nerves and nerve cells in the brain cells.

Flakka

It has a well-known name, a drug zombie, and this name may be true to a large extent, as flakka is one of the most dangerous drugs ever. It is a foul-smelling pill, made from chemicals manufactured to be used as a general stimulant, and is very similar to khat. It is a narcotic plant with stimulant properties that grows in some countries such as Yemen, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa. This narcotic substance has dangerous effects on humans, as it leads to a loss of control of nerve cells and an increase in the proportion of hallucinations in various behaviors. Therefore, flakka is considered one of the causes of crimes in countries where the drug has spread. Thus, the treatment of addiction to flakka became a requirement to obtain security.

The dangers of drug addiction to the individual and the family

The effects of drug addiction are numerous on the individual and the family, and these effects are divided into individual, family, and societal effects, and we will deal with each separately:

Effects of drug addiction on an individual

Through studies conducted on the physical phenomena in terms of the external appearance of the drug addict, the final results showed that there are some common manifestations in all drug addicts.

One of the most important external manifestations of an addict is his nose, which suffers from a constant runny nose, especially when addiction is related to some types of drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and opium.

One of the visible signs also among addicts is the light-colored skin sign, as we find that there are addicts after a while, the color of their skin changes to lighter than usual, and this is due to changes in the circulatory system and its disturbance in many cases, as well as the disappearance of the veins.

The addict suffers from stress and general weakness in the body before the treatment of addiction until he is almost unable to move in most cases, and over time he may suffer from heaviness in the extremities, both hands, and feet, and one of the most signs for the hands is their permanent trembling.

One of the famous apparent symptoms of addicts is intermittent and disturbed speech, due to the perception defect and absenteeism that he suffers from, as drugs such as Captagon pills, Tramadol, Lyrolin, and others affect the speech and movement centers in the brain, which affects the way the addict speaks, and also alcoholism and alcoholism give an appearance Especially in speech and manner of speaking.

One of the external manifestations that accompanies the addicted patient is the turbulent mood that he suffers from in an unusual and abnormal manner. These manifestations are undoubtedly among his external appearance, but undoubtedly affect the general appearance of the addict, in terms of his clothes, the way he eats, his speech and expression His feelings, isolation, and distance from people, or a state of indifference and lack of interest.

The addict suffers from general lethargy, laziness in movement or not thinking, and acting quickly in the problems he faces so he also suffers from laziness in speaking or expressing feelings.

The addict also suffers from depression, the severity of which may range between moderate and chronic, depending on the degree and duration of use, and this depression results in some daily behaviors such as severe mood swings, isolation, isolation, and withdrawal from various social situations.
